Operations Manager

The SRG Global Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all of the day to day activities of the Morehead facility?s Production Departments, consisting of Injection Molding, Paint, Plating, and Assembly, while having a passion for ensuring compliance, customer focus, and creating value.

The ideal candidate will possess the skills and knowledge sought below but, of equal importance, he or she will be self-motivated, possess a positive attitude, and be a creative thinker. This is a ?hands-on? management position that will work across the organization in a competitive atmosphere. Working and effectively leading all of the departments and interfacing with cross-functional teams at corporate and plant level is crucial for success.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Direct supervision and leadership of Department Managers, Maintenance, Production Control, and Customer Service.
  • Manage all aspects of the manufacturing facility.
  • Provide guidance to teams to ensure continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, while maintaining operating budgets.
  • Enhance and foster Market Based Management.
  • Set the focus of the plant vision on innovation to create long term value and sustainability.
  • Utilize plant KPI?s to monitor plant performance and drive continuous improvement to exceed business plan targets.
  • Coach, train, and institute process controls to make a cost-effective, quality products.
  • Establish and maintain a positive employee relations climate.
  • Participates on the Management Team in reviewing the EMS.
  • Model and implement the following concepts:?Empowerment and Teamwork; TPS leadership philosophy and human resources practices; kaizen; standardized work; PDCA and problem solving; 5S; quality improvement tools.
  • Implement JIT production tools including: Value Stream Mapping, lead-time reduction, set-up time reduction, process flow improvement, small lot production, heijunka, and kanban.?
  • Implement and measure effective training and development programs for all levels in the operation
  • Demonstrate on a consistent basis the MBM Guiding Principles and humility/discipline to achieve personal improvement.
  • Embrace change and lead standardization and best practice implementations with engineering, tooling, gauge engineering, program management, and others to develop seamless product or process development.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continual improvement of production performance.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor?s degree in engineering or similar discipline is required.
  • Candidates should have 7+ yrs. experience as a leader in operations, quality, development, program management, and engineering in an automotive environment and/or preferable decorative exterior trim Tier I position.
  • Strong motivation and history to develop personnel to full potential.
  • Promote and drive improvements in internal and/or external flawless launch processes and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding, plating, painting, assembly, part design, and tooling.

Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical skills: ?Ability to calculate simple mathematical equations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as concentrations, percentage, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning ability: ?Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities in products, processes, and/or quality systems.
  • Identify and record any problems in products, processes, and/or quality systems.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through established systems.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions to ensure successful resolutions.
  • Contain non-conformities and alter process until deficiency or unsatisfactory condition is corrected.

The employee will be required to lift up to 10 - 50 lbs. consistently on a daily basis.

Working conditions in some areas require that personal protective equipment be worn including but not limited to steel toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, ring and watch covers, belt buckle covers, and gloves. All employees of SRG are expected to comply with the safety policies.


The employee will be exposed to toxic and corrosive chemicals. The employee may encounter exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The employee may also encounter wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, working in high, precarious places, proximity to moving mechanical parts, exposure to electrical shock and radiation.

Noise levels are moderate.

The employee will need to wear shoes, shirt and all protective equipment relevant to working with hazardous chemicals.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
